My favourite blogs of 2013

Welcome to “my favourite blogs of 2013”! Here are am going to introduce you to some of my favourite blogs from last year and why I’ve chosen them.

Without further ado, here are the blogs.

Geeks Hut | www.geekshut.com

What is Geeks Hut? Geeks Hut is a technology news and reviews blog, specialising in offering you great and current technology news and very in-depth reviews. They offer their readers a great place to find the latest technology news in a short and easy way, so readers can find out the news without having to read thousands of words to finally work out what is going on. They also offer technology deals and technology specifications, making Geeks Hut a great all-in-one technology blog.

Why have I chosen this blog? I have chosen Geeks Hut mainly as I run the blog, and I have a huge passion for writing there. It’s great fun writing about technology, and can be really rewarding. That’s why Geeks Hut makes it on to this list.

Game Geeks | www.gamegeeks.com

What is Game Geeks? Game Geeks is a relatively new gaming news and reviews blog. News is posted daily about all of your favourite video games.

Why have I chosen this blog? The owner of Game Geeks – Bradley – is really putting in the work with this blog. He is making sure new content is out daily, and the content that is going out is informative, well written and generally sound.

CNET | www.cnet.com

What is CNET? CNET shows you the exciting possibilities of how technology can enhance and enrich your life. We provide you with information, tools, and advice that help you decide what to buy and how to get the most out of your tech.

Why have I chosen this blog? Like Geeks Hut, CNET is a technology blog. They have tonnes of content daily which is awesome to read and not always possible for tech bloggers like myself and the Geeks Hut team. They have some great writers and never disappoint.

GameSpot | www.gamespot.com

What is GameSpot? For over 17 years, GameSpot has been the most well-known video game community cruisin’ down the Information Superhighway, and it is made up of a hard-working team of expert gamers on staff as well as millions of visitors around the world who contribute their knowledge and experiences on a daily basis.

Why have I chosen this blog? GameSpot is one of, if not, my favourite gaming blog on the internet. They offer great news and reviews in an easy to read way, and plenty of it. Definitely worth checking out for any gaming fan or new gaming blogger.

IGN | www.ign.com

What is IGN? IGN is an entertainment website that focuses on video games, films, music and other media.

Why have I chosen this blog? IGN has a great team. New, great content is posted daily, and it’s not just news. There’s always fun stuff to watch there, and it’s a great source for any new gaming blogger. I used sites such as IGN when I first started out.

Cosmic | www.cosmic.org.uk

What is Cosmic? Cosmic is an ethical IT company, housing web development, tech support, training and consultancy under one friendly, helpful roof. They are a professional IT company, and love sharing their expertise in social media, search engine optimisation, graphic design, hardware and web applications.

Why have I chosen this blog? I work for Cosmic! Cosmic it the place I work at Monday-Friday, 9-5. I do some writing on the Cosmic blog so I recommend checking it out.

LevelUnlocked.net | www.LevelUnlocked.net

What is LevelUnlocked? LevelUnlocked.net is a gaming site run by a team of writers around Minneapolis, MN. They strive to bring you the best reviews, latest news and best stories from the gaming world.

Why have I chosen this blog? You may or may not know, but LevelUnlocked.net was the first proper website I made and had a real go at. When I sold it, it declined fast due to a bad owner, but now an enthusiastic father-son partnership has bought LU and it’s flourishing. A new design and a hard working team. Plus, I really like the idea of the father-son duo, awesome.

Geoffrey Koester | www.geoffreykoester.com

What is Geoffrey Koester? This blog is something not too disimilar to mine – it is the writings of an aspiring journalist who has a particular interest in politics and history.

Why have I chosen this blog? I really like what Geoffrey’s doing with his blog. He wants to pursue a career in journalism, and he’s going the right way about it. Some really interesting food for thought articles on his blog, accompanied by a great design and writing style. Kudos, Geoffrey.

So that wraps up my favourite blogs of 2013. If you were on the list, congratulations – have a cookie. If you know of some blogs I should check out, leave them in the comments below!
